Speech Language Therapists

A Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) in a specialist school setting supports ākonga with communication, language, and safe eating & drinking needs. They work collaboratively with ākonga, teachers, whānau, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies and interventions ensuring access to the curriculum. These may include supporting alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) skills and fostering social interaction. The SLT plays a key role in promoting each  ākonga's  ability to communicate effectively in their learning and social environments.

Occupational Therapists

Occupational therapists use everyday activities to help students develop, and improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living.

Physiotherapists

Physiotherapists help students with their movement and function.
