School Donations Scheme - Important Updates  (March 2026)

Wairau Valley Special School is now eligible for the MOE School Donations Scheme for school year 2026. As a result, we will not be requesting school donations for activities. Any advance payments made last year, as well as activity payments made this year, will be refunded. Families also have the option to allocate these payments as additional voluntary donations. Donation receipts will be issued for all voluntary donations.

Parent Payments

The board sets the amount payable for each student, and families are invoiced accordingly. Historically, the annual fees have been $160.00 per year or $40 per term, payable in a lump sum or by instalments. Donations have always been welcomed as an additional way to support our programmes.

As the school is now part of the MOE School Donations Scheme, activity donations are no longer requested. Refunds or voluntary allocation of previously paid amounts continue to be available as described above.
