OUR SPECIAL CHARACTER

 
 

Wairau Valley Special School is a state school that caters for the learning and care needs of students with intellectual and physical disabilities between the ages of 5-21 years, from varied and dynamic multicultural backgrounds. The school embraces a holistic approach to learning, with the support of professionals including teachers, therapists, specialists, support staff and outside agencies.

 

Students are taught at either the base school in Hillside Road, in one of the satellite classes in a host school or at the Transition Centre in Takapuna.
