Through an open partnership with families, whanau, professionals and the community Wairau Valley Special School will provide an education which values the uniqueness of each student and addresses their needs holistically to enable them to participate in an inclusive society .

We are a specialist educational facility, with the base school and satellite classes situated on the North Shore, which caters for students from five to twenty one years of age with:

• Intellectual disabilities
• Multiple disabilities - sensory, intellectual and physical
• Communication - language - speech delays
• Behavioural problems
• Learning disabilities
• Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Developmental delay.

We embrace a holistic approach to learning within a medically and therapeutically supported model.
